Gregory S. Redfeather Arnold, Esq., JD, LL.M (Insurance Law) (Mohawk and Chiricahua Apache)is both a financial services entrepreneur in Indian Country and a dedicated practitioner of tribal law and federal Indian law.  Mr. Arnold has pioneered insurance and surety services as niche markets for Indian tribes seeking economic security and self-determination in safe markets. Greg Arnold’s current, primary focus is advising the Tribal Association of Insurance Commissioners Global, Inc., a voluntary regulatory body with a membership comprised of the Insurance Commissioners of the tribes that have chosen to expand their economic security and self-determination through the licensing of insurance companies under their respective tribal laws (see TAIC.online).

As part of his public legal career, Mr. Arnold is  the first-appointed Attorney General & Insurance Commissioner for the Chiricahua Apache Mimbres Band Tribal Nation, an historical tribe that was federally-recognized by the Treaty of Santa Fe of 1852 and several other U.S.-Apache Indian Treaties (see CAMBNation.com).

As part of his private-company insurance career, Mr. Arnold serves as Secretary & General Counsel to Sovereign Nations Surety Company (Indian Country bail bonds ordered by tribal courts and other bonds) (see www.sovereignnationssurety.org).  He also serves as Secretary & General Counsel to First Sovereign Lloyd’s Trust &Guarantee Ltd. (FSL) (gap malpractice insurance for attorneys practicing in Indian Country tribunals and other risks limited to Indian Country) (see www.firstsovereign.org).  Both companies were formed under tribal law.  .  Mr. Arnold also offers risk management services to insurance and surety companies, and provides tailored, Lewis & Clark-style, cultural emersion, expedition and delegation services, whereby he assists clients in locating appropriate Indian reservations and other communities for the domestication of start-up insurance companies or the re-domestication of established insurance company operations.  

As part of his private, legal career, Greg Arnold is a Tribal Law Attorney with Private Advocates Tribal Law, PLLC (see www.privateadvoces.com), a Tulsa-based Specialty Indian Country Law Practice.  He also has a similar practice in the Pacific Northwest, which is Sovereign Roots Tribal Law, PLLC (see www.Sovereign-Roots.org).  Mr. Arnold was a Contract Public Defender for the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, where he handled misdemeanor and felony cases.  Mr. Arnold’s sole practice focus is federal Indian law and tribal law.  He is licensed to practice law by more than twenty tribal courts and tribunals of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and is available for client representation in personal injury; employment disputes; judicial mortgage foreclosure; construction; insurance; surety; banking; agriculture and other types of cases coast-to-coast.  Mr. Arnold’s articles on tribal law issues have been published in The Federal Lawyer magazine.   Mr. Arnold also occasionally serves as a testifying expert witness for cases involving federal Indian law, tribal law, plus bad faith cases involving insurance and surety underwriting  and claims-handling issues.

Mr. Arnold is also the Secretary & General Counsel of the Tribal Advocates National Bar Association, Inc. (TANBA), which has the purpose of advancing the professional development of Indian law students; tribal will scriveners; tribal court attorneys; and tribal court judges.  TANBA also assists those searching for sources of gap attorney malpractice insurance when state-practice policies fail to afford such coverage.
